About the Role

About the role We’re looking for exceptional ads engineers who want to join us on a new project to integrate xAI’s advanced AI infrastructure deeply into the Ads Platform. We’re looking for individuals who have built exceptional advertising products and systems at massive scale across bidding, auction, marketplace, ranking, prediction, and product. We’re bringing and using xAI’s technology stack to transform our advertising stack. What You'll Do You will be building the infrastructure that serves highly personalized ads to hundreds of millions of X users globally using the latest Grok-powered recommendation models. Be involved in the full array of xAI’s work, including ideation, experimentation, implementation, and maintenance of distributed systems and product features. Leverage all of xAI’s infra and AI stacks to dramatically enhance the advertising experience. Own and operate systems and products driving the majority of the revenue. Who You Are 2+ years of industry experience working with large-scale, high-throughput distributed advertising systems. Experience in building large scale and performant advertising systems: recommendations, prediction, and/or auction. Experience in recommender systems or search also counts. Good to have - IOI medalist, open source contribution, startup experience. Tech Stack  Golang, Python, Rust, gRPC Interview Process After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute interview (“phone interview”) during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews: Coding assessment in a language of your choice. Systems hands-on: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session. Meet and greet with the wider team. Our goal is to finish the main process within one week. All interviews will be conducted in person when applicable. Location The role is based in Palo Alto. Candidates are expected to be located near the Bay Area or open to relocation. Annual Salary Range $180,000 - $440,000 USD
